Therapy for Women in Somerville, MA

Counseling for Women Throughout Massachusetts

Being a woman is a powerful thing, but it often feels like we can’t win.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You have trouble embracing your worth
  • Setting and holding boundaries is super challenging
  • You’re not sure how to trust your body
  • You constantly feel as though you’re falling short in multiple areas despite your best efforts
  • Cutting ties with people and places that hold you back would help untether you, but you don’t know how to do that (or who would replace them)

If you found yourself identifying with any of these, you are not alone. And, you’re in the right place. While we collectively share experience on a broad scale, I also appreciate that each woman’s personal history is individual – your story is yours and yours alone. Nobody else has walked in your shoes. Our pasts have led us to our presents and together we’ll explore, heal, and create a narrative that helps you cultivate a vision for a happier, healthier, brighter future.

What to Expect

I know that scheduling a first appointment with a new therapist can feel like a daunting task, and it’s a radical act of self-care. Let me tell you about what the initial process looks like to help you understand what you can expect.

Once you reach out I’ll reply with some general information and we’ll work on finding a mutually available time to meet. Once we do that, I’ll get you set up in my client portal and send over intake documents. Once that’s all set, we’ll meet for the first time and we’ll talk about what prompted you to seek support and how I might be able to support you (it’s completely okay if you feel like you don’t have all the answers).

The most important piece of therapy is establishing safety and trust in the relationship we have together. I will help create and hold a space for you where you feel comfortable sharing your story and struggles fully, openly, and freely.

In our space you can expect:

  • To be welcomed whole-heartedly with a come-as-you-are attitude. You don’t need to show up any type of way, you just need to show up.
  • Unconditional positive regard and non-judgement. I deeply believe that all people are doing their best with what they have. You are perfectly imperfect and you are here. I promise you’re doing better than you think.
  • A place that is safe for you to be vulnerable, to make mistakes without apology, a nudge to get out of your comfort zone.
  • Laughter, realness, probably swearing, and definitely a dog cameo here and there.

Sessions with me are 50-minutes long, virtual, and typically occur weekly.
